Bill McClaren"All art is about communication, and a visual artist's process is one of looking, exploring, and reporting back through the filters of personal experience, creativity and vision.

Minor White is reported to have said, 'We photograph something for two reasons: for what it is, and for what else it is.' My goal is to find the 'what else' in any subject I shoot. Although I am always aware of the elements of design, I delight in breaking the rules, if doing so serves the image. My approach is most often emotional, sometimes psychological, and a willingness to start with an open mind and eye are essential. I find this an exciting way to work, but I am always striving to improve my vision."

Mr. McClaren's images have been shown in solo and group exhibitions, including "Strange Beauty" and "Low-Tech" at The Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, Colorado, "Renovations" at Gallery 46 in Oakland, California, "One Eye Shut" at the Olive Hyde Gallery in Fremont, California, and "Light Sensitive" in Phoeniz, Arizona. He has published two books showcasing his work: "Envisioning Rumi" and "Infrared Roadtrip."
